Welcome to Narayan Eye Hospital

History:

Situated / Located amidst rugged and lush green foot hills of the holy shrine of PAVAGHADH, Near Halol Town of Panchmahals district of Gujarat is the fascinating, divine and with aesthetic pleasure among the woods is "SHREE NARAYAN BAPU ASHRAM", Tajpura. When revered Pujya Shree Narayan Bapuji came to the forest human habitation was almost impossible. The place was sheltered by the wild animals and ferocious beasts. At this juncture, Pujya Narayan Bapu sensed the mysteriously divine indications, from almighty, all pervasive, God that he should make this place, Tajpura, now only for his home and spiritual destination. There was gradual development of the place. Pujya Bapuji used to sit in profound / deep meditation for weeks & months together. Small pits were dug for the same in the forest, for the purpose of meditation. Termites and other insects often adored Pujya Bapuji's divinity by cowling over his body, giving their unspoken hug. Unaware of the presence of such creatures, Pujya Bapuji used to remain focused on his goal of achieving the reunion with the God. He was consuming only milk for the precious 35 years of his life in forest at Tajpura.

ASHRAM HISTORY:

Having done rigorous meditation and pen’ance Pujya Bapuji had experienced the divine presence of the God and also had a glimpse of the great eternal entity. He realised the power of the Omnipotent who assisted him to construct whatever he desired and dreamt within a short-span of time. Initially, Pujya Bapuji erected the temples of the God with the incarnated beauty of adoring idols where one can have the presence of the almighty felt. Then a big and spacious assembly hall was built. He spent his precious time in meditation in the cave made for the same purpose. The arrangements have also been made for the pilgrims and devotees coming from far distances and abroad.

Six months out of the twelve months, Pujya Bapuji used to spend in the company of great saints, sages and hermits, and rare divinity enlightened souls, in meditation and profound spiritual thought process in the lap of the loftiest Himalayas., Haridwar, Rishikesh, Lakshmazula, Kankhal etc. which were his liked places where he stayed very often. Many holy places like Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangoti, Yamnotri, Hemkund, Amarnath and Maansarovar were pilgrimaged by Pujya Bapuji on foot. Moreover, Maansarovar in kailash is thought to be his dwelling place where he came into contact with many sages and shared his prophetic vision on various spiritual aspects. According to Pujya Bapuji, sages who live in the Himalayas would never come out of them.

The fragrance of Shree Narayan Arogya Annapurna Trust, Tajpura is so much spreaded now in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Some parts of U.P. that there may not be need to present or explain the history & Shree Narayan Arogya Annapurna Trust, Tajpura. Still however to update the information the history of such a human welfare oriented organization, Shree Narayan Arogya Annapurna Trust, Tajpura is presented for wider reference & user revision.

Reproduce History of Tajpura Here:

Whenever it was difficult to get fruits, the villagers were daily arranging for milk for Pujya Shree Bapu. In monsoon when the ditches / trenches will be filled by rain water Bapu used to come at the hill side of streams and built small cottage & stay there. He will make bed of mud and put dry grass on it and sleep and sit there for rest. As the news of Bapu / Sant started going in to the village people, they started flowing for Darshana of Bapuji. At times the flow of people from distance village & places was there and sometimes people have to stay back in Ashrma during nights. Due to forest situation and fear of dangerous/violent animals, the devotees were facing lot of problems. People requested for allowing them making / arranging for the mud houses, and thus first lot of cottage were constructed.

The people of this area were in Pitiable, uneducated conditions and were full of disbeliefs, doubts and misconceptions. They were also drug/wine addict. They were also involved in thefts, violence and other social vices. Slowly the impact of Bapuji’s presence started being felt. Number of people left the drug/wine addiction. Religious & spiritual impact started getting into the improvement of life of people. People started participating and getting involved in Bhajan, Kirtan, Satsang, Religious discovers and musical prayers. People started felling at the feet of Bapu and took oath & practiced ‘No Drinking of liquor”, "No Theft", "No violence” for any “live animals” & “human beings." People will write on paper with there own hands and put it on the feet of Bapuji. Lots of people improved their life style with the human touch and contact of Bapu and got involved in Socio-Spiritual & Religious activities of Ashram and Society at large. Frequent visit of Followers / Devotees created deep positive impact on the life of people.

To cultivate faith in religious activities a big ‘Yagna’ project of constructing Temple of God was planned in 1962. As the frequency of visitors increased a need for "Atithi Bhavan", "Visitors Home" was felt and developed. Every "Monday" and on "Purnima" day the population of Bhakta / Devotees, increased at a very large number. In the year 1970 second Yagna was held and big Temple & Satsang Hall were constructed. On these two days (i.e. Monday & Purnimaday) lot of devotes were coming & doing in Bhajan, Kirtan, Satsang, Discourses & related activities. The type of love & peace that was realised and enjoyed by people in presence of Shree Narayan Bapu was unique and this created a ground of attraction of people to visit "Shree Narayan Arogya Annapurna Trust". With the grace of Sad-Guru Shree Narayan Bapu number of welfare & developmental activities began.

In the year 1968-1969 Pujya Bapu was in "Maun Vrat" - for four months. After the "Maun Vrat" was over in one of the Satsang meeting of Shree Bapu, on "Monday", he informed the audience / devotees, that some of the well wishers have approached me with a desire to donate funds for the good welfare cause of needy people. He told to them that there are good numbers of welfare activities are going on in the world and one can go & donate there. But the devotees strongly felt that we will like these activities to be run by Shree Narayan Arogya Annapurna Trust, Tajpura with grace of Guru Shree Narayan Bapu only. Now we all will have to think in the direction and if there is good dispensary in the vicinity it will provide good help to go to villagers & needy persons. Secondly for primary education also children have to go at distant places and we may have a school too. This will provide basic, socially, culturally useful & value based education to children. He said these two basic welfare activities are very much required here and you all can think and help for the same. Those of you who are interested can make a small committee & plan & work for the same. Those who cannot help financially can also help by their physical services for the good cause.

This appeal was well received by all devotees & well wishers present in the meeting. A group of about 40 devotees meet later and thought of beginning dispensary in the vicinity and the proposal was accepted by Shree Narayan Bapu.

In 1969 on "Vasant Panchami Day" foundation stone for dispensary was laid. The activity did not stop here. A series of Eye Camps / Netra Yagna's were organised and number of people took benefit of the same. This lead to an important idea of developing a full fudged Eye Hospital. First the general hospital was built at the expenditure of Rs. Two and half laces.. People requested Shree Bapu for permitting for full fudged Eye Hospital and he described his own incidence & experience of eye operation.
