Shri Narayan Ashram at Tajpura situated amidst the rugged and lush green foot hills of the holy shrine Pavagadh, is the only fascinating abode of divine and aesthetic pleasure among the woods.

Human habitation was almost impossible where revered Shri Bapuji come to this forest. The Place was sheltered by the wild animals and ferocious beats. At this juncture of time, Shri Bapuji sensed the mysteriously divine indication from the all pervasive. Almighty and made his natural home at Tajpura to be his spiritual destination. Gradually the development commenced. Bapuji used to sit in profound meditation for weeks and months together in a small pit dug there in the forest land. Termites and Other insects often adored Bapuji divinity by crawling over his body giving their unspoken hug. Unaware of the presence of such creatures, Bapuji used to remain focused on his goal of achieving the reunion with the God. He spent almost 35 years of his life consuming only milk.

Having done rigorous meditation and penance Shri Bapuji had experienced the divine presence of the God and also had a glimpse of the great eternal entity. He realised the power of the Omnipotent who assisted him to construct whatever he desired and dreamt and dreamt within a short –span of time. Initially, Bapuji erected the temples of the god with the incarnated beauty of adoring idols where one can have the presence of the almighty felt. Then a big and spacious assembly hall was built. He spent his precious in meditation in the cave made for the same purpose. The arrangements have also been made for the pilgrims and devotees sojourning from far distances and abroad.

 

Six months out of the twelve months, Bapuji used to spend in the company of great saints, sages and hermits and rare divinity enlighten souls in meditation and profound spiritual thought process in the lap of the loftiest Himalayas. Haridwar, Rishikesh, lakshmanzula, kankhal etc. were his liked places where he stayed very often. Many holy places like Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, Yamunotri, Hemkund, Amarmath and Maansarovar were pilgrimaged by Bapuji on foot, Moreover, Maansarovar in kailash is thought to be his dwelling place where he came into contact with many sages and shared his prophetic vision on various spiritual aspects. According to Bapuji, sages who live in the Himalayas would never come out of them.


Bapuji had a cataract in on of his eye. His personal suffering made him realise about the same among the poor people, having his eye operated, Bapuji determined to start an eye hospital to treat the needy and poor patients free of charge on purely humanitarian grounds to gift the precious gem of eye back to such patients with his motto, started “Shri Narayan Eye Hospital” at Tajpura. Initially, the patients were treated through netrayajans. Then they were operated on every Monday. Bapuji dreamt of further expansion and now the hospital has nearly 250 beds and facilities like a huge waiting hall, separate wards for both the genders, ultra-modern operation theatre and a kitchen.

Today Shri Narayan Eye hospital serves to the patients from different states and regions of India without any discrimination of caste, creed, color, rich or poor the companions to the patients are also provided free boarding and lodging facilities.

Tajpura and Shri Narayan Eye Hospital has become the landmarks for the patients of cataracts who in return bestow their spontaneous blessings after having regained their vision. They also share and promote the same humanitarian endeavour among their near and dear ones.

The devotees and the loved ones of Bapuji believe that the institution is run by the blessings of venerated Bapuji but Bapuji himself formally believed that it’s all due to the divine intervention of the God and his mercy and love for his children. We should always be ready to serve such on institution from our heart, soul and by all possible means.
